The handbook brings together the experiences and lessons learned from the HEAT – Participatory Urban Planning for Healthier Urban Communities project.

For whom

This handbook is intended for example for municipal and city staff, members of civil society organisations, as well as active residents who wish to strengthen their skills in participation and engagement.

Content

The project has made use of participatory methods to integrate sustainability and health perspectives into urban planning, with the aim of promoting in particular cycling and other sustainable modes of transport. The handbook describes ways of engaging different stakeholders and highlights what should be taken into account to ensure that diverse actors can make their voices heard.

Three animated videos have also been produced to illustrate the key themes of the handbook.
